I would like to introduce Adelaide’s newest art venue.
Cafe Komodo is open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea 7 days a week 9:30 - 4:30pm, and now 10pm on Fridays!
Friday Evening Jazz Sessions start with happy hour from 5 - 7pm, and live jazz from 7 - 10pm.
Breakfast is available ALL DAY Sundays and Saturdays and until 11:30 every other day.

Let me fill you in on a just a little history first…

Please let me introduce myself, the name is Louise Standish and I’ve been floating around the Hospitality, jazz scene and fabulous music venues of Australia for the past 8 years…

I’m originally from Adelaide and after being inspired by the talent I was constantly surrounded by, I moved to Sydney.  I worked at The Basement Jazz Club for a few years where I was blessed enough to meet and listen to some of the most amazing music and musicians the world has to offer.

I started my own production company called ‘Orange Pepper’ which produced three music and art festivals.  These were all held at the basement and combined fabulous interstate headliners with a mix of a whole underbelly of artists from the local Sydney scene.  This included theatre performances, short films, art exhibitions, dancers, florists, environmental associations and of course music of all genres.

After my son Henry chose me for his mother, I decided to move back to Adelaide.

This is where Café Komodo was born.  It is now reaching it’s second birthday and I’ve just recently become the sole trader. Café Komodo is a groovy little retro café, which has just started live jazz every Friday night.

To run an art music venue has always been my dream, and now I’m ready!  My vision is strong, and my intent is genuine.  I believe in creating a space where musicians and artists can create an honest and intimate relationship with their audience, which generates inspiration on every level. I want people to believe that personal expression is where one can find them selves.  And above all I want to promote Adelaide’s local performance artists, and share the love and inspiration I’ve received from all of you on my journey here!
